Obverse description Three-quarter facing draped bust of Captain Arturo Prat Chacón, the Chilean naval hero, occupying the majority of the field, rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail including beard and bow tie. The subject's name appears incuse in two lines to the right of the effigy: ARTURO / PRAT. A continuous circular legend reading SESQUICENTENARIO·DE·LA·ESCUELA·NAVAL· curves around the upper periphery, with the commemorative dates 1818·1968 continuing around the right and lower border, all separated by raised dots. The inner border is defined by a dentilated beaded rim.
