Opmerkingen

The Banco de España 5 Pesetas series of 1940 was issued during the early Franco regime, when Spain was still economically devastated from the Civil War and largely cut off from international printing suppliers — hence domestic production at the FNMT rather than the prestige European security printers used in earlier decades. This particular note is catalogued as a replica, meaning it was produced for reference, display, or philatelic purposes rather than circulation, and should not be evaluated against surviving genuine examples for condition comparisons.

Pick #123 replicas are reasonably common in dealer stock; attribution to the genuine issue requires verification of paper composition and the FNMT security features specific to the 1940 print run.
