Monzón, a town in Huesca province, came under anarcho-syndicalist control early in the Spanish Civil War, and like dozens of other Aragonese municipalities it issued its own emergency paper to keep local commerce moving after the Republican monetary system fractured in 1936. These consejo-issued notes were strictly local instruments — often printed in tiny quantities by whatever press was at hand — and most circulated only within the issuing municipality before becoming worthless as the war's fortunes shifted.
The Gari reference number is unassigned, suggesting this piece was catalogued without a confirmed specimen or remains a recently surfaced type.
