Obverse description Unadorned right-truncated bust of King Juan Carlos I facing left, engraved in a naturalistic style, occupying the central field. The effigy shows the king in civilian dress with short, lightly textured hair. The circumferential legend reads 'JUAN CARLOS I REY DE ESPAÑA' along the upper periphery, with the date '1980' displayed in the lower exergual area between two dots. The border is formed by a continuous beaded rim.
