Obverse description Right-facing portrait bust of Francisco Franco, Caudillo of Spain, rendered in high relief with strong sculptural detail by engraver Manuel Marín Jimeno. The effigy is unadorned and depicts Franco in military dress, dominating the central field. The surrounding circular legend reads FRANCISCO FRANCO CAUDILLO DE ESPAÑA POR LA G.DE DIOS, invoking his title by the Grace of God. Below the portrait, the fixed design date 1957 appears, reflecting the series inception year rather than the actual year of issue. The two-digit mint year is instead encoded within a six-pointed star on the reverse.
