| 背面描述 | Central design features a stylized depiction of the Santa María del Naranco, the pre-Romanesque palatial church near Oviedo, Asturias, presented in a bold, graphic rendering that emphasizes the arcade gallery and elongated barrel-vaulted structure. The large numeral 5 is prominently displayed in the lower central field, overlapping the architectural motif. The legend ASTURIAS arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination PTAS appears along the lower border. The Madrid mint mark (M) is visible in the lower central field. |

This coin was issued as part of a series celebrating Spain's autonomous communities, a constitutional arrangement that had been fiercely contested since the transition from Francoism. Asturias held particular symbolic weight in that political settlement — it was the region where the Nationalist uprising of October 1934 was crushed with exceptional violence, and where Francisco Franco himself directed the military suppression before his later rise to national power.
