正面描述 Green intaglio print over a multicolor guilloche underprint. Central vignette carries a portrait of Juan Sebastián de Elcano after a fragment of Ignacio Zuloaga's painting, with the explorer's name inscribed below. The background is filled with intricate geometric guilloche patterns, and three signature lines for the Governor, Comptroller, and Cashier appear along the lower margin above the printer's imprint.

备注

Spain's postwar economy in 1948 was still operating under autarky, and the peseta had been devastated by wartime inflation and international isolation following the Civil War. Small denominations like this one were workhorses of daily commerce at a time when the regime was still rationing basic goods.

Carlos Velamazán was one of FNMT's most capable intaglio engravers of the mid-century period. The watermark is the note's sole concession to security — no serial number varieties or overprint permutations complicate cataloging this issue.
