| 背面描述 | The reverse displays the large numeral '5' prominently at centre, executed in a bold serif typeface with a distinctive curled tail. Flanking the numeral are two small floral rosette ornaments positioned symmetrically to the left and right. The denomination legend 'PENNIÄ' arcs along the lower portion of the field in evenly spaced capital letters. The overall design is clean and uncluttered, with the denomination elements occupying the full face within a plain raised rim. |

Finland's 1918 coinage program was conducted against the backdrop of a brutal civil war that killed roughly 36,000 people in under four months. The mint pressed forward regardless, testing iron as a wartime substitute for the copper that had largely vanished from the European metal supply. Trial strikes like this one were never released — the provisional government's monetary plans were in flux throughout the conflict, and iron coinage of this denomination ultimately did not enter circulation.
