A prominent Jamaican countermark — a crowned 'GR' (Georgius Rex) cypher — has been applied to the left portion of the central device, partially obscuring the host coin's field. The surrounding circular legend, rendered in raised Latin lettering with pellet stops, reads FERD • VI • D • G • HISP • ET • IND • R, identifying Fernando VI as King of Spain and the Indies. The coin's milled border is visible along the periphery. |
