The shield is divided by a vertical pale and a horizontal fess, with heraldic charges visible in each quadrant: a lion passant guardant in the upper left, a fleur-de-lis and scrollwork in the upper right, a harp in the lower left, and a lion passant guardant in the lower right. The denomination FIVE PENCE is inscribed horizontally across the centre of the design, bisecting the shield. |
