Obverse description The obverse features the second portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, depicted with a tiara and wearing a lace-trimmed neckline, as modelled by Arnold Machin. The legend ISLE OF MAN is inscribed along the upper left periphery, with ELIZABETH II continuing along the upper right. The date of issue appears at the base of the coin, below the truncation of the effigy. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the Queen's hair and regalia, characteristic of the Machin series adopted for Commonwealth coinage from 1968.
