| Obverse description | The arms of the Portuguese Republic, rendered as a quartered shield bearing five smaller escutcheons in cross formation each charged with five bezants, enclosed within a bordure of seven castles, occupy the centre of the field. The circular legend 'REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA' arcs across the upper periphery, flanked by small five-pointed stars, with 'MACAU' continuing along the right legend.
