Obverse description Central field occupied by the elaborately calligraphed tughra of Sultan Mustafa III, rendered in the classical Ottoman style with characteristic looped baseline, upright shafts, and interlaced bowls. The tughra is presented without a rosette to its right. The coin is bordered by a beaded inner circle, with the flat field showing the typical granular surface of billon coinage. Note: this example is holed at approximately 3 o'clock.

Reverse description Central field bears a two-part Arabic inscription arranged within a divided rectangular cartouche: the upper register reading 'ضرب في اسلامبول' (Struck in Istanbul) and the lower register displaying the regnal year '١١٧١' (AH 1171). The regnal year suffix (indicating the year of reign) appears above the cartouche. The whole design is enclosed within a beaded border. The coin is holed at approximately 9 o'clock.
