| Obverse description | The elaborate imperial toughra of Sultan Abdülhamid II occupies the central field, rendered in intricate calligraphic form with flowing loops and finials. The honorific epithet 'el-Ghazi' (the Warrior) appears to the right of the toughra. Decorative floral and foliate ornaments frame the design in the upper field and around the border. The regnal year in Arabic numerals appears beneath the toughra, indicating the year of reign. The overall design follows the standard Ottoman tughra coinage style of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. |
