| Popis líce | Central field dominated by the elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Abdülaziz, rendered in the ornate Ottoman imperial style with characteristic looped and vertical strokes rising prominently above the interlaced body of the monogram. Below the tughra, the regnal year numeral '٤' (4) appears in Arabic script, denoting the fourth year of the sultan's reign. The entire design is contained within a finely executed beaded border encircling the coin's periphery. The copper flan displays a broad, slightly concave field characteristic of mid-nineteenth century Ottoman milled coinage. |

The 5 Para copper issues of Abdülaziz reflect the Ottoman fiscal strain of the 1860s, when the empire was borrowing heavily from European creditors following the Crimean War and struggling to maintain a coherent currency system alongside the newly introduced paper kaime notes. Small copper fractions like this circulated in conditions the silver and gold issues never encountered — handled by street vendors, tax collectors, and port laborers in Constantinople daily.
