Obverse description The elaborate tughra of Sultan Abdulaziz occupies the upper central field, rendered in the traditional Ottoman calligraphic style with flowing loops and extended strokes. Below the tughra, Arabic inscription indicating the regnal year appears in the lower field. The rim is bordered by a fine dotted or beaded circle, framing the composition. The overall design follows standard Ottoman imperial convention, with the tughra serving as the principal device and symbol of sovereign authority.
