| Reverse description | The numeral '5' is prominently displayed in the center of the field, flanked by two stylized sugarcane or wheat stalks rising from behind the numeral and framing it on either side. A small five-pointed star appears to the left and right of the central device in the mid-field. The Arabic denomination پیسہ (Paisa) is inscribed in Nastaliq script below the numeral, with a plain raised rim encircling the entire design. |

| Additional information |
Pattern coins from the Pakistan Mint rarely surface in Western collections, and this aluminium trial was never approved for general circulation — the 5 paisa denomination was ultimately discontinued rather than reissued in a lighter alloy. By 1990, rampant inflation had rendered the paisa nearly worthless in practical commerce, making the economics of continued production difficult to justify regardless of metal choice.
