Obverse description The obverse features the crowned royal cipher of King Christian IX of Denmark, composed of the interlaced monogram 'C IX' in large incuse letters occupying the central field. Above the monogram sits a detailed royal crown surmounted by a cross, rendered in fine relief. The mint year appears at the lower left along the inner border, and the mint master's initials 'CS' are placed at the lower right. The entire design is framed by a continuous beaded border running along the coin's periphery.
