Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Justinian I facing right, rendered in the schematic late antique style characteristic of Carthaginian mint issues. The imperial diadem is visible atop the head, and the paludamentum drapes over the cuirassed shoulder. The bust is set against a flat field with the abbreviated imperial titulature distributed around the periphery in Latin capitals. The die work is somewhat rough, consistent with provincial hammered coinage of the period.
