Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Justinian I facing right, rendered in the late antique imperial tradition. The effigy displays a pearl diadem and paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder, with the cuirass visible beneath. The bust is boldly struck in relatively high relief for a small copper denomination, though the flan is irregular in shape. The encircling Latin legend reads D N IVSTINIANVS P P AVG, distributed around the periphery of the obverse field.
