| Opmerkingen |
Nigeria's lower denominations were converted to polymer beginning in 2007, but the 5 Naira note was deliberately retained in paper through this transitional period — a cost decision, given the denomination's low purchasing power and high replacement rate. The Central Bank ultimately discontinued the paper 5 Naira entirely in favor of a coin in 2007, making notes from this final print run short-lived survivors of an abrupt policy shift.
