Reverse description Reverse features four Chinese characters arranged around the central square hole. The mint identifier 京 (Kyŏng, denoting the Kyonggi Provincial Office) appears at the top, the denomination 五 (five) appears at the right reading right to left alongside 當 (equivalent to), and the series number 十一 (eleven) appears at the bottom, indicating this is the eleventh series issue from this mint. The plain field and cast workmanship are characteristic of late Joseon Dynasty cash coinage.
