Nepal Rastriya Bank was established in 1956, which creates an immediate puzzle for any note attributed to this issuer dated as early as 1953. The series is conventionally cataloged under this issuer by Pick, but the earlier dates within the range almost certainly belong to a transitional period before the bank was formally constituted — likely drawing on pre-existing printing arrangements.

The Mohru denomination itself was short-lived as official nomenclature, replaced as Nepal's currency terminology standardized around the Rupee. Notes from this series are among the earliest issues of modern Nepalese paper currency.
