| Obverse description | Central field features four large Chinese ideograms arranged in a cruciform pattern reading top to bottom and right to left, with a six-pointed star at the centre. The ideograms read 宣統元寶 (Xuantong Yuanbao) and 錢伍什喀 (Kashgar 5 Qian). The arrangement is surrounded by a circular border of additional Chinese characters denoting the denomination and mint authority. Below the Chinese legend appears an Arabic inscription identifying the mint as Kashgar, the denomination as 5 Mithqual, and the Islamic Hijri date 1329. |
