| Obverse description | The obverse features large, boldly engraved Chinese characters filling the central field in a calligraphic style, reading 迪化銀圓 (Dihua Silver Yuan) arranged vertically across the upper and central field, with 光緒 (Guangxu) to the right and 伍錢 (Five Qian) to the lower left. The design is unframed, with the inscription occupying virtually the entire flan. The coin is bordered by a toothed or dentilated rim running around the full circumference. No portrait or figurative imagery is present; the denomination and reign title together constitute the sole decorative and informational elements. |
