| Obverse description | Central field features four large Chinese ideograms arranged in a cruciform pattern, read top to bottom and right to left, with a floral rosette at the centre. Additional Chinese inscriptions appear in the upper and lower margins, while Arabic legends occupy the left and right fields respectively. The overall layout is characteristic of Sinkiang provincial coinage of the late Qing dynasty, combining both Chinese and Arabic scripts to serve the bilingual population of the region. The entire design is contained within a beaded inner border. |
