Obverse description The obverse field is entirely occupied by a six-character Chinese inscription arranged in three columns, reading 光緒伍錢 阿城銀元 (Guangxu 5 Qian, Aksu Silver Coin), rendered in bold, deeply struck Chinese characters of cursive style. The legend identifies the reign era of the Guangxu Emperor, the denomination, and the issuing mint at Aksu. The coin is bordered by a continuous outer ring of small raised beads forming a denticulated rim. The silver surface displays characteristic toning and light wear consistent with circulation use.
