Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, sculpted by Cecil Thomas, wearing the George IV State Diadem adorned with crosses and fleurs-de-lis. The Queen's hair is styled in a short wave, with a draped bust truncation visible at the base. The peripheral legend QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND curves around the effigy, with the engraver's initials CT appearing at the truncation. A dentilated border frames the entire obverse field.
