Reverse description The reverse displays a left-facing profile of the Great Sphinx of Giza rendered in low relief, occupying the majority of the coin's field. The nemes headdress with its characteristic striations, the broad face, and the layered beard are rendered with fine detail. The Sphinx is depicted in a recumbent pose with the forepaws visible at the lower portion of the design. A small mint mark appears in the lower exergual area. The composition is framed by a beaded border.
