| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of King Idris I of Libya, wearing a traditional keffiyeh headcovering secured by a cord, rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail by engraver Paul Vincze, whose initials P.V. appear in the lower field. The Arabic royal legend is disposed in two curved lines flanking the effigy on either side, reading from right to left across the field. The rim is defined by a continuous beaded border. |
