Obverse description Printed in burnt sienna on a greenish guilloche underprint on yellow paper, the obverse carries a central oval vignette with a portrait of Francisco de Paula Rodrigues Alves (1848–1919), the 5th President of Brazil, similar in design to P#26. The surrounding field is filled with fine lathe-work ornamental borders and typographic legends. Stamping, serial, and order numbers are applied in red.

Reverse description Printed in brick-red (brique) on yellow paper using a woodcut-style letterpress technique, the reverse presents a large symmetrical guilloche medallion occupying the full field, with numeral "5" counters set within ornamental rosettes at left and right. The denomination and issuer legends appear in bold serif lettering within framed panels at the centre, and the printer's imprint is set in small type at the lower margin.
