Opmerkingen

The "Governo Revolucionario do Brazil" issuer designation places this note squarely within the tenente movement — specifically the São Paulo revolt of July 1924, when a faction of junior military officers seized the city and held it for three weeks before federal forces retook it. Emergency currency was issued to keep provisional operations funded. The movement was defeated, but it fed directly into the broader revolutionary currents that eventually produced Getúlio Vargas's 1930 coup.

Notes from this episode are scarce precisely because the issuing authority ceased to exist within a matter of days.
