| 背面描述 | A large, bold five-pointed star (the Seal of Solomon, symbol of the Alaouite dynasty) dominates the entire field, rendered with double incised outlines. Within the central pentagon formed by the star's inner lines, the denomination '5' in Western numeral flanked by Arabic script reading the value in mazunas is inscribed. Below the star, in the lower exergue area of the coin, the word 'ESSAI' appears in Latin capital letters, identifying this piece as a pattern or trial strike. The plain field surrounding the star is unadorned, giving the design a stark, authoritative quality. |

KM#E12 designates this piece as an essai — a trial strike produced for official approval rather than circulation. Morocco was under French protectorate administration by 1922, and coinage decisions passed through Paris as much as Rabat. The mazuna denomination itself was already marginal by this point, a legacy unit being phased toward the French-aligned dirham system that would consolidate Moroccan coinage in subsequent decades.
Lec#68 confirms attribution within Lecompte's reference on French colonial essais, where Moroccan trials of this period are notably scarce survivors.
