| Opmerkingen |
Finland mobilized for the Winter War in late 1939, and wartime austerity pushed low-denomination notes into heavy daily use as coin metal was diverted. The P#69 5 Markkaa ran through the entire war period and into the Continuation War, which meant print runs were extended well beyond original projections and quality control over individual sheets was inconsistent.
Notes from the later pressings in this series are known to show uneven inking along the border rules — a consequence of overworked plates rather than any deliberate variant. Not an error per se, but worth examining on individual examples.
