| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of Kaiser Wilhelm II, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and a characteristic moustache. The truncation of the neck is clean and unadorned. The circumferential legend reads WILHELM II DEUTSCHER KAISER KÖNIG V PREUSSEN, distributed around the upper and lower periphery. The mint mark A appears in small letters at the base of the coin below the portrait. The field is smooth and polished, giving a semi-proof-like appearance. |

| Reverse description | The Prussian-German Imperial eagle displayed with wings outstretched, facing left, its head turned to the right, surmounted by an elaborate Imperial crown with orb and cross. On the eagle's breast is affixed the quartered Hohenzollern shield bearing the Prussian eagle and other dynastic devices, supported below by decorative acanthus scrollwork and Order of the Black Eagle regalia. Two six-pointed stars flank the lower legend. The circumferential legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcs across the upper field with the date 1904 to the right, while FÜNF MARK appears along the lower periphery. |
