| Obverse description | Right-facing uniformed bust of Kaiser Wilhelm II wearing a Pickelhaube (spiked helmet) surmounted by a spread-winged Prussian eagle, the emperor depicted in military dress with visible epaulette and neck armour. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail characteristic of Karl Goetz's medallic style. The engraver's initial G appears in the lower left field near the truncation. The circular legend reads WILHELM II DEUTSCHER KAISER, separated by the eagle atop the helmet, all contained within a beaded border. |
