Obverse description Unadorned right-truncated bust of Kaiser Wilhelm I facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair swept back and a full beard with moustache characteristic of the monarch's official portraits. The effigy is bold and naturalistic in style, occupying the majority of the coin's field. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the circumferential legend reading WILHELM DEUTSCHER KAISER KÖNIG V. PREUSSEN arranged around the periphery. The mint mark A appears below the truncation at the base of the bust. The overall execution reflects the high artistic standards of the Berlin Mint's pattern coinage.
