| Reverse description | The reverse likewise presents two uncut 50 Pfennig Kriegsnotgeld notes, each bearing a polychrome scenic vignette of the Lindau island townscape on Lake Constance with the Alps in the background, rendered in a painterly watercolour style and signed by the artist. The top border carries the inscription 'KRIEGS-NOTGELD' and the lower border reads 'STADT LINDAU i.B.' The same bold diagonal black overstamp 'Gut für 5 Mark' with redemption text is applied diagonally across both notes. |
