Reverse description Crowned imperial German eagle displayed with spread wings, rendered in fine detail with a shield on its breast bearing the Hohenzollern arms. The eagle is surrounded by the circular legend DEUTSCHES REICH · FÜNF MARK · 1904, distributed around the periphery within a beaded border. A small star appears at the base of the field below the eagle. The overall design follows the standard Wilhelmine-era imperial eagle type used across German state coinage of the period.
