Reverse description The standard German Imperial eagle displayed at the center of the field: a spread-winged, single-headed eagle bearing the imperial orb on its breast, surmounted by the Imperial crown with flanking ribbons, and encircled by a decorative oak-leaf and floral wreath at the base. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcs along the upper periphery with the date 1904 to the right, while FÜNF MARK is inscribed along the lower periphery. Small six-pointed stars flank the lower legend. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
