| Opmerkingen |
Bremer Woll-Kämmerei was one of the largest wool-combing operations in continental Europe at the outbreak of war in 1914, and like hundreds of German industrial firms that August, it issued its own emergency currency when coin hoarding rapidly drained local circulation. These factory-issued Notgeld notes served primarily as wage tokens within the plant and surrounding company-dependent community of Blumenthal — not as general commercial tender.
Self-printed at the issuing location, the note carries no external printer's mark, which was common for early 1914 industrial issues produced in haste before specialist printers caught up with demand.
