Reverse description The crowned Madonna standing three-quarter length, holding the Christ Child on her left arm, occupies the central field; the Christ Child holds an orb surmounted by a cross in his right hand. The Madonna holds a sceptre in her left hand and is robed in flowing drapery, her crown bearing decorative beading. Below the figures is the quartered coat of arms of Bavaria, featuring the traditional lozengy arms alongside the Palatinate lion, the Franconian rake, and the three blue lions, all within an ornate shield. The circumferential legend BAYERN FÜNF MARK curves around the design, with the mint mark D appearing at the bottom of the field.
