Obverse description Unadorned right-facing effigy of King Albert of Saxony occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curly hair and a full beard characteristic of late 19th-century portrait coinage. The truncation of the neck is bare, emphasizing the naturalistic, medallic quality of the portrait. A circular legend arching above reads ALBERT KOENIG VON SACHSEN, while the lower field bears the king's birth and death dates flanking the mint mark E: *23.IV.1828 to the left and +19.VI.1902 to the right. The entire design is bounded by a continuous inner beaded border.
