| Reverse description | The reverse is dominated by a central heraldic vignette in which the quartered municipal arms of Kronach — charged with roses and crowns on a red and gold field — is supported by two écorché male figures rendered in a Renaissance woodcut manner after the design of Heinz Schiestl. A baroque cartouche with scrollwork and a plumed finial rises above the shield. The denomination numerals "5" enclosed in laurel wreaths appear at left and right against a gold guilloche underprint, and the foot of the note carries the words "Fünf Mark" in Fraktur, with the printer's imprint "H. STÜRTZ A.G. WÜRZBURG" below the lower border rule. |
