The central text block carries the denomination "Fünf Mark" in elaborate Gothic Fraktur lettering, flanked above and below by the issuing authority and redemption clause in smaller script. The date "Dresden, den 1. November 1918" is printed in red alongside two manuscript signatures, with the series designation "REIHE U" and serial number likewise in red at lower left and right. |

Vertical text panels in both side margins carry legal notices concerning forgery penalties and acceptance conditions, with the designer's credit "H. Wieynck fecit" and the printer's imprint inscribed at the top. |
