| Opis awersu | The obverse is printed in dark blue and grey on a light ground with a fine floral underprint. At centre, a diamond-shaped vignette encloses the municipal seal of Ulm, surrounded by a circular legend, flanked by swags of draped fabric suspended from rings at upper left and right. Laurel wreaths frame the denomination numerals '5 Mark' in Gothic script at lower left and right, while two columns of validity text in Fraktur flank the central vignette. The issue date 'Ulm, den 22. Oktober 1918' appears at centre below the seal, accompanied by three manuscript signatures above the titles Oberbürgermeister, Bürgerausschußobmann, and Stadtpfleger. |

| Opis rewersu | The reverse carries a detailed intaglio-style panoramic vignette of the Ulm cityscape viewed across the Danube, with the spire of Ulm Minster and the rooftops of the old town rendered in fine line engraving against a sky of hatched clouds, framed by large oak trees in the foreground. At lower left a circular red official stamp of the Stadtgemeinde Ulm a.d. Donau is applied, and at lower right the municipal eagle shield appears. A central cartouche below the panorama bears the denomination legend in Gothic script, with the series letter and serial number printed in red beneath. |
