| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in dark blue and grey on a light ground with a fine floral underprint. At centre, a diamond-shaped vignette encloses the municipal seal of Ulm, surrounded by a circular legend, flanked by swags of draped fabric suspended from rings at upper left and right. Laurel wreaths frame the denomination numerals '5 Mark' in Gothic script at lower left and right, while two columns of validity text in Fraktur flank the central vignette. The issue date 'Ulm, den 22. Oktober 1918' appears at centre below the seal, accompanied by three manuscript signatures above the titles Oberbürgermeister, Bürgerausschußobmann, and Stadtpfleger. |
