Beschrijving voorzijde The national coat of arms of the Republic of Azerbaijan is depicted in high relief at the centre of the coin, featuring an eight-pointed star enclosing a flame motif on a shield, flanked below by crossed oak and wheat branches. The circular legend AZƏRBAYCAN RESPUBLİKASI arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 5 MANAT appears in the lower field. Two small eight-pointed stars serve as decorative separators in the lower legend area. The polished mirror fields contrast with the frosted devices in a characteristic proof finish.

Aanvullende informatie

Qubadlı is one of seven districts Azerbaijan recaptured during the 44-day Nagorno-Karabakh war of autumn 2020, and this coin belongs to a series the Central Bank issued to commemorate that campaign. Qubadlı was retaken on 25 October 2020 after nearly three decades under Armenian control following the 1994 ceasefire that ended the first Karabakh war.

The district had been entirely depopulated of its Azerbaijani residents since 1993.
