Beschrijving keerzijde The deeply mirrored proof field depicts a stylized archer in dynamic profile, drawn in a modernist, graphic relief style, aiming a longbow to the right. Decorative pomegranate plants with buds and fruit frame the composition in the lower left and lower right, while an abstract stylized tree rendered in teardrop motifs occupies the upper right field. In the upper left, the official logo of the Baku 2015 First European Games appears as a small medallion. Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark Azerbaijan's hosting of the first European Games in Baku in June 2015, this coin belongs to a series covering individual sports from that inaugural multi-sport event. The European Games were conceived by the European Olympic Committees in 2012 as a regional equivalent to the Pan American or Asian Games — Europe being the last major continent without one.

Azerbaijan secured hosting rights partly through substantial government backing from SOCAR oil revenues, with an estimated expenditure exceeding $1 billion USD on infrastructure and ceremonies alone.
