| Obverse description | Blue-grey note with an elaborate guilloche border enclosing the central text field, which carries the denomination and authorizing text in Ottoman Turkish calligraphic script. The imperial tughra of Sultan Mehmed V appears at the top centre, flanked by the serial number 'A 0118831' repeated on both left and right. A circular vignette at the lower left bears the French legend 'BANQUE IMPERIALE OTTOMANE / 5 LIVRES TURQUES'. Two manuscript signatures appear across the lower portion of the note, with the redeemability clause 'Remboursable à CONSTANTINOPLE' in a cartouche at the foot. |

| Reverse description | Printed in dark brown/maroon on an unadorned cream ground, the reverse centres on a large ornate medallion with a scalloped guilloche frame enclosing Ottoman calligraphic text. Flanking the central medallion are two circular rosette vignettes each bearing the numeral '5'. The words 'LIVRES' and 'TURQUES' are inscribed in arched letterpress above and below the central medallion respectively, completing the bilingual denomination statement. |
