Obverse description Blue-grey note with an elaborate guilloche border enclosing the central text field, which carries the denomination and authorizing text in Ottoman Turkish calligraphic script. The imperial tughra of Sultan Mehmed V appears at the top centre, flanked by the serial number 'A 0118831' repeated on both left and right. A circular vignette at the lower left bears the French legend 'BANQUE IMPERIALE OTTOMANE / 5 LIVRES TURQUES'. Two manuscript signatures appear across the lower portion of the note, with the redeemability clause 'Remboursable à CONSTANTINOPLE' in a cartouche at the foot.
